About the event
Mark your calendars! The Burney Sisters are coming to Southern Illinois, August 17th, 2024 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm with an open jam session to follow!
Sister, Sister
The talented duo comprising of Emma (16) and Bella (14), craft music that defies their youthful years. Their songs, infused with emotional intelligence, resonate deeply with listeners. These inspiring siblings blend their voices in harmonies reminiscent of First Aid Kit, Lake Street Dive, The Staves, and Joseph. While drawing inspiration from various genres, they hold a special affinity for Motown and soulful melodies from any genre or era.
Their journey has taken them to grand stages, intimate venues, and festival stages such as Blissfest, Shoe Fest, Shipyard, Moccasin Creek, Columbia's Roots N Blues, Ozark Amphitheater, and most notably the Cayamo Music Cruise (2023). They’ve shared billing alongside luminaries like Wynonna Judd, Brandi Carlile, Jo Dee Messina, Jeff Tweedy, Willie Nelson, The Avett Brothers, Sheryl Crow, Larkin Poe, Del McCoury, and Sawyer Fredericks from ‘The Voice.’ Beyond the spotlight, the Burney Sisters have cultivated a strong bond with their fanbase through over 200 house concerts across the US and Canada.
Their music is available on platforms like iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, and Amazon. Stay connected via Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, and join their journey behind the scenes on Patreon.com

What is a Pickin' Party?
Allow us to explain! While our family is origionally from Southern Illinois, Mama Rhonda, Millie & Andy spent the last 12+ years living and playing music in Nashville, Tennessee. Pickin' Parties are a staple of the Nashville music scene and a great way to meet fellow musicians and enjoy authentic bluegrass/Americana music and the beautiful summer weather. We truly enjoyed the Pickin' Parties over the years and knew this was something special we needed to introduce in Southern Illinois!
This is a gathering for music lovers of all ages and a great way to introduce young players to new tunes passed down by the older folks. Pickin' Parties are Blueglass and Americana specific and while we will have an open mic opportunity and featured artists each month, guests are welcome to play in the circles or just enjoy the music!
We hope to see you there!
